Hello to all the ORIS-addicted family here! :)
I've got some new stuff to share with you before the week-end. Something tells me that you will be interested at least! :D

Presentation of the RUF CTR3 watch from ORIS
(www.ruf-automobile.de)

On December 11th 2008 the new RUF CTR3 watch by Oris was presented in Pfaffenhausen. Numerous well-known journalists took part at the presentation. The manufacturing companies Oris and RUF are connected by unique know-how in manufacturing top-quality products. On the one hand it is hand-crafted high performance street legal sports automobiles; on the other hand it is mechanical watches of highest precision in Swiss craftsmanship.

The design of the new Oris RUF CTR3 limited edition chronographs were inspired by the optics of the RUF sports car. The housing is made of titanium; the tachymeter lunette consists of an extremly durable motor sport material ceramics. The watchstrap is fine leather. The chronograph is limited to 3.000 pieces.

WOW :D

That's some classy watch. Ti case, ceramics lunette, leather strap. Limited Edition.

That's something for Warren's collection of LE Chronos!

Seriously, chronometers generally leave me cold, but this one is NICE! Very Nice! :)

Your cover has been blown. Now we know who you are, herr Stirlitz. You are Maksim Maksimovich Isaev, a colonel of the GRU. And may I add that you have been clever. Very clever. But the game is now over. :perfect10:

No, Alexander. In fact, I have not a faintest idea. Do tell

But the question brings a joke to mind:

One worker at a Soviet factory showed up 5 minutes early for work. He got arrested for espionage. Another came 5 minutes late. And got arrested for sabotage. The third one came on time and was arrested for anti-Soviet propaganda. He was wearing a Swiss watch. :perfect10:

I've known a few ruf girls in my time (not women sadly, I married young), but never a ruf watch.

This is actually not a bad-looking watch - not as nice as the TT3 Chrono LE imho (altho I am biased), but still pleasing to the eye.

Good sniffing, our soviet friend & 'watch'dog!

Great find Alex :D

Couple of interesting tidbits on the main Oris website, there are two L.E.'s, one will come with the purchase of each car and includes the serial # each car engraved on each watch. The second L.E. of 3000 are for the rest of us who can't afford the car

Also of note, the sapphire crystal, which is double domed, has an inner and outer anti-reflection coating, first mention I've seen of Oris coating both sides.

Looks like our favorite brand is stepping it up notch with some of these technologies, i.e. ceramics, double coated ar, double domed crystals and nickel hands
